The House of Cherith provides a safe environment for adult female victims of sexual exploitation.  Support services include; medical, mental health, dental, case management and spiritual counseling.  When at maximum capacity, The House of Cherith has 12 women residing there for 30-90 days.  While residing at The House of Cherith, the women are assisted in developing a life-plan that may include a long-term residential care program, vocational training, reunification with family, or other plans as deemed appropriate.

Partnerships are vital to the success of The House of Cherith.  Below are options that exist to facilitate those partnerships:

1)     The Family Table:  Groups of women, 4-6 in number, have the opportunity to bring the items needed for dinner, prepare the meal, have dinner with the residents and then participate in games or a movie time with the residents.  This opportunity is available daily and having groups commit to recurring dates is encouraged.

2)     Saturday in the Park: Ladies from partnering organizations arrive at City of Refuge mid-morning on Saturday and, based on the size of the visiting group, take an individual or several individuals who reside in Cherith, on an outing for the day.  Trips may include visits to the park, lunch, movies, shopping, etc.

3)     Restock the Pantry: Partners will choose to purchase or collect non-perishable food items, toiletries, paper towels, napkins, household cleaning items, etc., and provide for Cherith on a monthly basis. A list of needed items will be provided to partnering groups each month.  Ideally, 12 partnering groups would each sponsor one month each year.

4)     Praying Partners: Groups will elect to pray daily for all residents and staff.  A roster on residents (first name only) will be updated each time a resident moves in or out so the Prayer Partners will have the most current list to pray for each day.  Periodic visits to Cherith for on-site prayer gatherings will take place as well. There is no limit to the number of participants in this partnership opportunity and both men and women are encouraged to participate.

5)     Dress Em’ Up: Partners will provide funds for each resident to purchase new clothing upon their arrival at Cherith.  Most residents will arrive with only the clothes they will be wearing and new items will need to be purchased immediately.  Dress Em’ Up Sponsors will provide $200 per resident they wish to sponsor.

6)     1-2-1 Program:  Twelve adult female volunteers will commit to one to one mentorship, conversation, prayer and other needed relationship resources.  Each resident will be matched with a 1-2-1 volunteer for the duration of their stay.  Volunteers will tailor their involvement based on schedule, availability, and other factors.

All potential partners should express their interest, and identify the area of sponsorship they would like to participate in, via email to House of Cherith Director, Kelsi Deel at ';h1387974411='cityofrefugeatl.org';document.write('' + linktext + ''); .  All partners will be asked to participate in a training session prior to involvement and must be willing to submit to a background check.
