what does membership mean?
By becoming a member, one commits to joining a spiritual family who provides encouragement and support. Members are called to a higher degree of responsibility, service and sacrifice. Our pastors and ministry leaders pledge to assist our members with care, counsel, prayer and teaching. It's our hope that you will commit to being a ministry partner at Fellowship Bible Church.
four reasons to be a member...
- It's Biblical - Christ is committed to the church. "...Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." (Ephesians 5:25 ESV)
- It's Countercultural - We live in an age when people resist being committed to anything - a job, a marriage, our country. Partnership swims against the current of America's "consumer religion". Membership is an antidote to our society and an unselfish decision.
- It's Practical - It defines those upon whom we can depend. Every team must have a roster. Every school must have an enrollment. Every business has a payroll. Every army has an enlistment. Membership identifies our church family.
- It's Healthy - Church membership produces spiritual growth. The Bible gives major emphasis for the need of Christians to be accountable for each other for spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you're not committed to a specific church family.
The pathway to membership at Fellowship Bible Church begins in a Discovery Group. This small group experience is designed to help people discover who we are as a church, if Fellowship is the church for them and what it means to be a member. The groups meet 4 times.
We invite you to attend a Discovery Group and discover who we are as a church and what it means to make disciples of Jesus. Find out how and where you fit - whether you have been here for a month or five years.
The next four week session will start on Sunday, April 23rd during the 11am service. It will meet April 23, April 30, May 7 and May 21. It will not meet on May 14th.
